The euro is the only currency in official use in the following 17 European Union countries:

Outside the European Union, the euro serves as sole currency of Andorra, San Marino, Vatican City, Monaco, Montenegro and Kosovo. Also in three overseas territories of EU states that are not themselves part of the EU (Mayotte, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Akrotiri and Dhekelia).
